1. How big was ANIMEGACON last year in its first year?
ANIMEGACON in its inaugural year in 2012 took to the approach of “Go Big or Go Home!!” We hosted the biggest names in anime, gaming, cosplaying, J fashion, J music, and J culture, as our Guests of Honor illustrate: Wendee Lee, Vic Mignogna, Quinton Flynn, Jamie Marchi, Cristina Vee, Linda Le, Lisle Wilkerson, La Carmina, and many more industry professionals. We had the largest Best in Show Masquerade prize in the country, and 11 total Mega Events that you wouldn’t find together in any one anime convention, let alone a first year con. Because of the undying efforts of staff, volunteers, and all the great guests involved, ANIMEGACON welcomed over unique 2,200 attendees (not turnstile) in its first year. Thanks for making ANIMEGACON 2012 a success!
2. Is ANIMEGACON expanding to include Comic?
Yes! Seeing the crossover between anime fans and comic fans, gaming enthusiasts, and followers of fantasy, ANIMEGACON is going beyond anime and is now Las Vegas’ only all inclusive anime, comic, gaming, and fantasy expo! We now strive to establish ANIMEGACON® as the all inclusive animation and fantasy destination for anime, comic, gaming, and fantasy fans young and old, and for professional convention goers as well as first timers from all over the nation and the world. Thus, our slogan: Animation Fans of the World, Unite!
3. Where is ANIMEGACON 2013 being held?
If you missed it on all the pages, we’re at the Riviera Hotel & Casino Convention Center, easily accessible from Paradise Rd across the street from the LVH. The Las Vegas Hotel & Casino were great hosts last year but because of the unique layout of the Riviera Hotel & Casino Convention Center, we can now host everything within the same walls, limiting the time (and distance) it takes for attendees to be in the Exhibit Hall as well as attend the Main Events and panels, plus there are Skyboxes for VIPs!! See you at the Riviera!
4. In a Casino Again?
Yes! The Riviera is a Casino AND welcomes us! Because the Convention Center is away from the Casino, attendees do not ever have to set foot into a casino unless you would like to of course! Furthermore, the Monaco Tower in the Riviera is intended for attendees of conventions, so get a room and the elevator takes you steps away from ANIMEGACON convention! Rooms are cheaper than last year and comes with Internet and other freebies too!!
5. Is there FREE parking?
Yes.
6. Is ANIMEGACON affordable?
Yes! We have lowered our pricing and still offer the best! Pre-register early and save even more!
7. Why should I get a VIP Badge?
VIP badges allow you access to VIP Skyboxes (balcony seating) for Mega Events, first in line (VIP line) privileges, discounted/complimentary entry into the Maid Cafe, and other benefits.
8. Where and when do I receive my Badge?
You can pick up your Preregistered Badge at the Convention Center registration desk as early as on Day Zero (Thursday, June 13, 2013) of ANIMEGACON or register for At-Convention Badges there as well and get your Badge at the same time.
9. What will I need to pick up my Badge?
You will need a government issued photo ID with the same name as you preregistered on your Badge order such as a driver’s license, a state ID, a passport, or military ID or a School ID with a photo. Please do not use an alias or nickname as your name when you preregister. You can add a nickname for your Badge BUT you can only pick up your Badge with your given/legal name. 2) You MUST also bring the printout of your registration confirmation email containing a barcode.
10. Can somebody else pick up my Badge if I give them my ID? Can I pick up multiple badges if I am a Group Leader?
No. Everybody MUST pick up their own Badge.
11. Can I save space for somebody in line?
No. Everybody must be present and line up for themselves with the exception that if somebody is already in line and needs to use the bathroom or for an emergency, then someone may save his/her space for a reasonable amount of time (no more than 15 minutes). There will be multiple lines marked accordingly, so please line up in the correct line or risk having to go to the back of the correct line after having waited in the wrong line.
12. How old do I have to be to attend ANIMEGACON?
ANIMEGACON is family and children friendly. Anybody under the age of 15 will need to have a parent or guardian over the age of 18 to be present to pick up his/her Badge. Anybody under the age of 13 will need to have his/her parent or guardian over the age of 18 accompany him/her throughout the duration of the convention. No one under the age of 21 is allowed in the gaming area of the Casino. Las Vegas and Clark County have a curfew for those under 18. Anyone under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent after 9pm on the Las Vegas Strip and after midnight off the Las Vegas Strip.
13. Do you have an Exhibit Hall only pass?
No. You can preregister or register at the convention for a one day Badge.
14. Are all Mega Events included with a Badge?
Yes, unless otherwise stated.
